Welcome to Alber Orchard & Cider Mill

Hayrides, corn maze, company picnics, weddings, and more fun at the apple orchard and cider mill at Alber Orchard, Manchester, Michigan, just outside Ann Arbor and Detroit. Only 30 minutes west of Ann Arbor or an hour from Detroit, our beautiful orchard provides a perfect country get-away in the rolling hills of Manchester, Michigan.

There is no admission charge, but there is a fee for some activities. We offer horse-drawn hayrides, 7-acre corn maze, a you-pick pumpkin patch, kids play area, free straw maze and animals area, tours of our vintage cider press, fall events and entertainment, and delicious, crisp heirloom and family favorite apples.

Hayrides are $2 per person. Due to the drought this year, the corn in the maze simply has not grown much. From the air, you can see our Salute to the Troops. From the ground, you are welcome to enjoy this year's maze free of charge. It's still going to be a lot of fun, though perhaps not as challenging as previous years. We will gratefully accept donations towards the cost to plant and cut next year's maze. No charge for viewing the animals, straw bale maze, viewing the cider press, kids play area, and entry to the pumpkin patch (you do pay for your pumpkins.)

Pumpkins, corn maze and family fun in Manchester, Michigan, serving nearby Ann Arbor and Detroit. You'll also love our specially blended apple cider, pressed on site with the cider press and poured to your glass or jug.

This beautiful classic gazebo at the edge of the orchard is a perfect location for the bride and groom to share their wedding vows. Weddings and Special Events!

This beautiful land was deeded in 1832 by President Andrew Jackson, and acquired by John Alber in 1881 to operate as an orchard and cider mill.

Today's owners, Mike and Therese Bossory, are preserving the centennial orchard, gazebo, barns, and cider press to assure your family or special group with a clean, safe, relaxing time on the farm.

The Alber Orchard is also the ideal location for your wedding or special event, and we look forward to hearing from you. The orchard is a gorgeous setting at any time of the year, and our caterers are extraordinary. We can also provide a fun wagon ride through the orchard for your evening receptions.
